We have an outstanding opportunity to join the PowerNet team in the exciting and rewarding career of an Apprentice Line Mechanic of which there are three vacancies. We have one position that is based out of our Invercargill depot, one based out of our Balclutha Depot and one in Ranfurly. In these roles, you will be responsible for power line construction and maintenance, performed under the supervision of our other talented employees.
Experience/Knowledge and Skills:
• Be innovative
• Understanding or interest in the electricity industry
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills
• Class 1 New Zealand Drivers licence (minimum restricted)
• Interest in emerging technology
• NCEA Level 2 or equivalent level of achievement
The successful candidates will be a highly motivated individuals, who enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather and conditions. You need to be confident with heights, have a good level of fitness and be a strong team player and contributor. Your commitment and strong communication will see you do well in the industry along with a pragmatic, flexible and adaptable approach.
