PowerNet's Board of Directors

There are eight Directors on the PowerNet Board. This is comprised of directors from the shareholding boards.  Five Directors are appointed by The Power Company Limited and three are appointed by Electricity Invercargill Limited. The Chair and Deputy Chair are appointed on a three-year rotational basis, alternating between each shareholder.

James is the chair of PowerNet Ltd and a director on the board of The Power Company Ltd, he has over 45 years’ experience in the development of large infrastructural projects.

Peter Moynihan
BAgSc

Peter is a director of PowerNet Ltd and chair of The Power Company Ltd, Lakeland Network Ltd and a member of the OtagoNet Joint Venture governing committee. His comprehensive understanding of balance sheets, trading performance, risk and how strategy and strategy implementation is useful for the governance roles in this industry.

Wayne Mackey
B.E (Electrical) MIEEE

Wayne is a director on the boards of PowerNet Ltd, The Power Company Ltd, Lakeland Network Ltd and a member of the OtagoNet Joint Venture governing committee. He has extensive industry knowledge through his experience leading an electricity network and related directorships.

Karen Sherry
QSM, BA, MA (Hons), LLB (Hons), C.FInstD

Karen is a director on the boards of PowerNet and The Power Company Ltd, she is also a current director of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority and Electra Ltd. Karen has had 30 years’ experience in governance in the Electricity Industry and in 2014 was awarded the Queens Service Medal for her services to the Industry.

Murray Wallace
BCM CPA

Murray is a director of PowerNet Ltd. He brings over 15 years’ experience from operating in senior management roles in the export-orientated wood manufacturing industries in Southland. He has extensive commercial experience in international markets. He is also a director on The Power Company Ltd board.
