OtagoNet Governing Committee

The Governing Committee oversees the OtagoNet Joint Venture and is made up of representatives from the network owner, The Power Company Ltd Group.  The Committee’s role includes determining policy; approving the Strategic Plan, Business Plan and Asset Management Plan; monitoring performance, reporting to shareholders and ensuring that the network complies with relevant legislation.

His comprehensive understanding of balance sheets, trading performance, risk and how strategy and strategy implementation is useful for the governance roles in this industry.

Carmen Blackler

Carmen is a director of The Power Company Limited Group which includes the following companies, PowerNet Ltd, OtagoNet Joint Venture Governing Committee, and Lakeland Network Ltd. Carmen brings over 30 years of experience in the New Zealand Energy sector across electricity, gas, emissions trading, risk management, emerging technology and the decarbonisation of energy.

James Carmichael

James is a director of The Power Company Ltd Group which includes PowerNet Ltd, OtagoNet Joint Venture Governing Committee and Lakeland Network Ltd. He has over 45 years’ experience in the development of large infrastructural projects.

Wayne Mackey

Wayne is a director of The Power Company Ltd Group which includes PowerNet Ltd, OtagoNet Joint Venture Governing Committee, and Lakeland Network Ltd. He has extensive industry knowledge through his experience leading an electricity network and related directorships.

Karen Sherry
QSM, BA, MA (Hons), LLB (Hons), C.FInstD

Karen is a director of The Power Company Ltd Group which includes PowerNet Ltd, OtagoNet Joint Venture Governing Committee, and Lakeland Network Ltd. She is also a current director of Watercare Services Ltd and of Electra Ltd. Karen has had 30 years’ experience in governance in the Electricity Industry and in 2014 was awarded the Queens Service Medal for her services to the Industry.

Murray Wallace

Murray is a director of The Power Company Ltd Group which includes PowerNet Ltd, OtagoNet Joint Venture Governing Committee, and Lakeland Network Ltd. He brings over 15 years’ experience from operating in senior management roles in the export-orientated wood manufacturing industries in Southland. He has extensive commercial experience in international markets.
