Microgrids

What are microgrids?

Microgrids are small collections of generating assets that provide electricity to a source. These microgrids can be “on-grid” – connected to our network or “off-grid” – not connected to our network. Typically, an “off-grid” microgrid is built in areas far away from our line and cable assets or in areas where maintaining line and cable assets is expensive.

Microgrids typically have a large number of generation assets such as:

Solar

Harness the power of the sun.

Wind

Harness the power of the wind.

Batteries

Store your energy to use at a better time.

Inverters

Convert between systems to connect to our network.
