Emma Ihaia

MA First Class Hons (Economics)

Emma is a company director with more than 20 years’ experience in economic regulation, and as an economics consultant she has advised utilities in New Zealand, Australia, Europe, the Caribbean and Pacific Islands.

Emma is a director on the board of Electricity Invercargill Ltd (from November 2021). Emma is a self-employed director of Link Economics, a Senior Advisor of Castalia Ltd (part-time), has spent four years on the executive team of Network Tasman as the Regulatory and Commercial Manager and chaired working groups for the Electricity Networks Association (ENA).

She has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts (from the University of Auckland) in Economics, and is a member of the Institute of Directors.

Emma has particular expertise in the energy and telecommunication sectors and has held numerous community governance roles.
