Last night (Wednesday 4th November) PowerNet experienced an equipment failure at the Edendale Zone substation.

This equipment failure is affecting water heating, streetlights and night store heaters to customers in this area.

We are currently switching some customers to other substations for their electricity supply, this will minimize the disruption caused by the equipment failure. We have also manually switched on the streetlights in Edendale and Wyndham, these lights will remain on until repairs are completed.

Our PowerNet teams are currently working on repairing the equipment, this is a big job and should be completed by late Saturday (7th November).
